Accessory Packs

Since Barbie is a Fashion doll it would make sense that girls could change the look of the Barbie Girl MP3 players besides the two looks they came with. As such Mattel released the Accessory packs that came with pieces to create new looks and even decorate the earphones. In 2007 it was released the Deco Packs and the Fashion Packs. In 2008 to go with the new release of Barbie Girl MP3 players, a new wave of Deco Packs and Fashion Packs plus the new Glam Gowns Packs and PJ Party Packs. The were also two exclusive Toys R'Us packs, Day-to-Night Packs that combined a bit of each pack. All packs awarded the players with a code for online items for BarbieGirls.com, which could be pets or clothes.

Fashion pack

Fashion Packs were designed to give more clothing and hairstyle options for the MP3s. Each came with 2 hairstyles, 2 complete outfits, 1 winking face and 1 purse. Some of the pieces were recolored but at least the main outfit was unique.  They also came with a site of sticker gems that could be applied to anywhere to decorate. There was the 2007 fashion packs and the 2008 fashion packs that were extremely rare and probably had a small release. The Online Exclusive items were the clothing pieces, shoes and purse of the unique outfit of each fashion pack that came in a code and the items would then be added to the players closet.

2007

2008

Glam gowns pack

Glam Gowns Packs were a new type of fashion pack released in 2008. They brought some ideas from the fashion packs but instead of the sticker gems they came with new "earrings" to decorate the earphones, which were before exclusives to the Deco Pack. All versions came with 2 hairstyles (1 long and 1 unique mold of short hair), 2 party dresses (all unique molds), 1 or 2 pairs of shoes, 1 purse, 1 detailed face and 1 set of "earrings" for the earphones. Most of the pieces had glitter details to reference the beautiful dresses from the Glam Gowns store. The Online Exclusive items were both dresses, 1 pair of shoes and purse.  Same with the fashion packs, after entering the special code the items would appear in the players closet.

PJ PARTY pack

While the 2008 line of MP3 players and accessory packs weren't as common and advertized as the 2007 launch line, the PJ Party Packs became a big part of the Barbie Girls iconography quite easily. Like the Panda and Penguin pets, the pijamas originally exclusives to these packs had multiple versions, each with unique patterns. The PJ Party packs were a great way to have unique hairstyles for the MP3 players and detailed faces. All versions came with 2 hairstyles (1 recolored with glitter and 1 unique) , 2 faces (one with a textured face mask and one with a makeover), 1 complete pijama, 2 charms for the hand peg (1 lipgloss and 1 teddy bear). The PJ Party packs were meant to match each 2008 MP3 players, with the pijamas having patterns that matched the back plates and the lip glosses shapes and unique hairstyles fitting with the pattern themes (Pink with a heart, Blue with lips and Green with Star). The Online Exclusives were the pijama (a t-shirt, pants and slippers) and a teddybear purse.

Day TO Night Packs

In 2008 two exclusive packs were released, the Day to Night Packs which were Toys "R" Us  exclusives. The packs were quite unique  in format as they came with more items than all the other packs and were a mix of pieces recolored from all other sets. As they didn't have any new molds they were a way for buyers to get a bit of each pack in new colors and patterns: 2 black plates, 3 recolored hairstyles, 3 face plates, 1 top, 1 skirt, 1 complete pijama, 1 glam gowns dress, 2 purses, 2 pairs of shoes, 1 pet (Panda or Penguin), 1 set of "earrings" and 1 set of gem stickers. The Online Exclusive item was one of the Pets, the Panda or Penguin that came each with two unique colors, both different from all the previous versions.
