Homepage
BarbieGirls.com was a website advertized on the Barbie main website ( Barbie.com ) and also on other Mattel's brands and their compilation of girls brands EverythingGirl.com. Once connected to the Barbie Girls website players could sign up or login in and also check Parent's Place to get information on the website's contents and safety. Starting in 2008 there was also the option to get V.I.P. memberships through subscription.
The website's homepage had a few alterations through the years, with a very simple one in 2007 (and became the one available in the international websites as those never got updates). In 2008 as the website got out of BETA it changed it's homepage and having new one almost yearly. On the front page there was always an animated avatar of Barbie talking to the players "Hey Girl! There's fab new stuff every month on BarbieGirls.com!" which in one version could be costumized. This Barbie design was the one used in all Barbie Girls advertisements and Barbie Girls MP3 Players. The V.I.P. version of Barbie, created for the online subscriptions could be found on that specific pages.
1st Homepage 2007-2008
The first Homepage was very simple, fitting for how simple was the game during it's BETA state in 2007 and most of 2008. Players could check the advertsiment for the Barbie Girls MP3 PLayers, which became way less advertised once online memberships became available but back then they were the only way to become a V.I.P. player. This homepage became the only one ever available on the international versions of the website as those were never updated.
2nd Homepage 2008-2009
The second homepage was still a bit simple and only lasted a few months but already had advertising for the V.I.P. online memberships. This page had a unique decoration for Halloween 2008 with a unique Barbie outfit, an alteration of Barbie's V.I.P. outfit dressed as a witch in black, purple and orange. That animated avatar was never used again for unkown reasons.
3rd Homepage 2009-2010
The third homepage lasted a longer time, with different decorations and more complex Parent's Place page with a unique Barbie look. There was also more advertsiment for the V.I.P. memberships exclusive gifts. This page showed a bit better all the new contents that were released in 2008 like the new areas, games and such.
4rd Homepage 2010-October 2010
A fan favorite homepage, the fourth one while a bit full of information had one the best mecanics: giving a makeover to the Barbie avatar with unique outfits (most not available on the game), different hairstyles and shoes. The avatar had still the same animations as before which was cool to see. Other information including knowing new members name, information shown on the Buzz & Goss and information on the new events and updates. It kept the pages with information on being a V.I.P. and Parent's Place plus a few more advertisiment videos.
5th Homepage October 2010 - June 2011
The last homepage was quite different from all the previous ones. It had an overall view of the map, with tiny Barbie Girls avatars walking around (which looked like the ones on the original website's map back in 2007-2008). This homepage also introduced a new look for Barbie and a "soft reboot" for the Barbie Girls brand with a bigger focus on V.I.P. memberships specially the online ones and way less original content. On this new page users could no longer change Barbie's outfit but they could create a avatar of their own directly there and sign up.
When the website closed in June 2011, it was for a time still available to check information about it's closing and play three popular games: Fashion Frenzy, Dazzling Designs and Puzzle Scram! On November 2011 the website became forever unavailble, becoming a direct link to Barbie.com for some years and currently direct to Mattel's Barbie shop.
