tHE characters
Like many multy player online worlds, Barbie Girls had a few non-playable characters. The characters were mainly simple, having sometimes animations and their main purpose was to aid the player or just make the world feel a bit more alive. Some were also the main characters of games. The premade phrases on B Chat sometimes expanded information on certain characters and also the world: for example the chat related to Twilight Woods implied that the boy camp was on the other side of the lake, later confirmed by the arrival of Crushboy on Valentine's Day 2010.
One of the last updates on the game introduced characters profiles for the boy non-playable characters. It is uncertain if more character profiles would be added to other NPCs or even to special holiday exclusive characters like the Vampire Boy in Twilight Woods.
Barbie
While all player characters were supposed to be a Barbie doll, as they were all called Barbie-Girl, the titular Barbie was present in the game and merchadising but never as a in world avatar. Barbie could be always found on the homepage talking to the players. This main outfit ( t-shirt, jeans and sneakers) was the one used in all advertisement, commercials and packaging and instructions of the MP3 players.
She could also be found wearing other outfits in the last version of the website's homepage, the V.I.P. outfit, shown on V.I.P. membership pages which new V.I.P. players received the hair with the crown as an welcome gift. There was also a variant of that outfit for Halloween 2008. On Parent's Place was Barbie dressed as a teacher, Club Beauty had Barbie dressed for a Spa day and Litter Blast also had a unique green variant of the original Barbie's outfit.

tHE CRUSHES
Crushboy , Ken, Chilldude, SkaterBoy, Genieboy
The Crushes were the male non playable characters who also later on got special character profiles showing a bit more of their personalities. These characters were: Ken (B Café), SkaterBoy (B Park), Chilldude (Enchanted Bay), Genieboy (Purple Parlor) and Crushboy (Twilight Woods) .
SkaterBoy was the original boy character since the site opened in 2007, Genieboy was later added in 2008. In early 2010 Curshboy was added and became the boy character with the most outfit changes, having a Valentine's outfit in 2010 and a werewolf form in Halloween 2010. Later on the game welcomed Chilldude and Ken which introduced the character profiles.
Other boy characters include the Vampire Boy from Twilight Woods in Halloween and two male characters who were removed for unknown reasons at some time from the earlier version of the game: a boy in B Cinemas and on B Café. Both these boys seemed to have more complex animations and movements like SkaterBoy.
