The Badges
The Badges were first announced with the addition of the Rockin' Rec Center which awarded players by doing the Deck Out the Rec with an upcoming badge. They were later released on May 2010, which were the first new change to the gameplay of Barbie Girls since it's renovation on 2008. My Trophies were a new button to the interface, with it's symbol being a gift (it showed some notification symbols next to it if players got new badges or completed a collection). Players profiles also had a new folder to show their badges, which anyone could see. There the gem badges were divided by category: Fun, Fashion, Friendship. The three main keywords and slogan of BarbieGirls.com .
In the beginning only the Fun badges were available with the three collections of Gamer Girl. Later on the Fashion Badges were added, also introducing the event exclusive collections. The Friendship badges however were never released so there's no way of knowing what activities would be linked to them. All members could get badges but only V.I.P. Members could complete the collections (all collections had at least one badge which only V.I.P. members could get). The best part about completing a collection was to get exclusive rewards such as: clothes, makeup, furniture, pets. Each also gave B Bucks and a trophy for the players rooms. There were in total 10 Gem Badges Collections.
