V-Day

The third event on BarbieGirls.com, themed around San Valentine's Day, V-Day is a bit smaller in scale than the previous events but it's notheless very entertaining and with each edition grew in scale. Starting in February of 2009, new clothes, accessories and furniture were added with also freebies to all players, with new stuff added in each year. Hangouts like Twilight Woods and B Café had decorations in latter editions of the event.

For Fun, there were activities like Give a Valentine, were V.I.P. Members could give to anyone exclusive furniture or the added profiles of the Crushes, the boy avatars that inhabited the world of Barbie Girls.

The Hangouts

Unlike Halloween or Christmas which had many hangouts decorated, V-Day was way more simple, only having a true hangout decoration in it's second edition. On 2010, the new hot hangout for the website, Twilight Woods, welcomed Crushboy, a non playable character that "came" from the boy camp on the other side of the lake. He was on a boat surrounded by flowers and sweets (the same ones of the Give a Valentine activity). After the event was over he stayed there fishing in camping clothes.

On 2011, the last edition, B Café received a makeover (reutilizing the one from B Day) with some special chairs and ballons inspired by San Valentine's Day. During the event B Café was only available for V.I.P Members to visit. On the first weeks of the event a chair had a ribbon saying reserved which latter was revealed it was Ken, Barbie's longtime boyfriend. When the event was over Ken  stayed on the B Café.

The fashions

V-Day was more of an accessories type of event with only one shirt as clothes available. On 2009 a pair of boots and shirt was for sale at B Stylin' Shop and B Chic Boutique while a pair of earring at B Charmed Accessories. Also in that year it was gifted to all players an heart shaped purse. In 2010 the same purse was once again gifted plus a pair of boots to all V.I.P. Members (but due to a glitch some Basic players got them). A new pair of earring and necklace was also added to B Chic Boutique plus all other items from previous editions. On 2011, the last edition, no new stuff was added and the purse and boots was only available to buy. Two dresses were added but only V.I.P. members of the 3 month or 6 month plan.

The Furniture

For furniture V-Day wasn't as lucky as Halloween. Only two items were released on the first edition, on 2009, and in the next editions no new ones were added. At Furni Fever V.I.P Members could buy some heart shaped ballons and a table with sweets and flowers. These items would be available to buy in each edition of the the event.

Give a Valentine

On the second edition of V-Day, in 2010, a new activity was added to the Fun of the event. It worked in a similar style to Trick or Treat or the Funky & Fairy Power, but while they did transformations, Give a Valentine was aimed at giving gifts.

How it worked: Only V.I.P. members could give a valentine, they could choose any player (V.I.P. or Basic) and send a valentine, which could be flowers or candy. Players could then or accept or refuse the gift. The gifts were two types of furniture which any player could decorate their room with: a table with candy and a table with flowers

The activity returned on 2011. After the event was over players could keep as many of the tables from Give a Valentine as they wanted.

The crushes

Crushboy , Ken, Chilldude, SkaterBoy, Genieboy

V-Day 2011 didn't had any of collection badges (BarbieGirls.com was closer to it's end and only had some minor updates after this). One update that came with V-Day with the arrival of Ken at B Café was the inclusion of character profiles for the boys of the Barbie Girls World. The male non playable characters: Ken (B Café), SkaterBoy (B Park), Chilldude (Enchanted Bay), Genieboy (Purple Parlor) and Crushboy (Twilight Woods) had profiles like the V.I.P. members had and could be added by V.I.P. Members to their friend list and to "send a smile". An unreleased option was also there after adding as a friend, to send a gift that was like the one players could do but since it was never released we cannot know how it would have worked.

After the event was over the profiles stayed, players simply had to click on the character to see them and know more info about them.

While not a V-Day exclusive, on V-Day 2011 two new shirts were released to celebrate the two newest boys on the website. They were the Team Ken shirt and the Team ChillDude shirt, in line with the previous Team crushes shirts: Team SkaterBoy, Team GenieBoy and Team CrushBoy.
