B Stylin' Shop
B Stylin' Shop is one of the original places of the World of Barbie Girls, available to every player. Before B Chic Boutique being turned into B Kooky Costumes, both shared the same items, items that were mostly casual wear. After Halloween 2009, B Stylin' Shop was changed to have the interior of B Chic Boutique but in shades of lilac and it's more weird clothes or costumes got transferred to B Kooky Costumes. The shop has for sale: jackets, tops, bottoms, dresses and shoes, with some exclusive limited items for certain events. The screen on the shop would be updated from time to time to show it's new items. The shop always had the game Fashion Frenzy, even after it's interior change.
B Charmed Accessories
B Charmed Accessories is also one of the original shops of BarbieGirls.com . It is the go to place for accessories as such: head accessories (which have a specific hair to be used with), necklaces, glasses, earrings, purses and later on bracelets. The shop decor has the three purses from the Fashion Packs, even though not available for sale. While not as common, exclusive accessories for events were also available.
Furni Fever
Furni Fever was since the begining of the website the only store where players could buy furniture to decorate the rooms of their Barbie Girls avatars. The store got multiple updates, some for special events and it had all sort of items. From wall decor to a fridge, the list of items was endless and many of them even had unique interactions like opening doors, turning lights on and off and little animations like a seal appearing from a pond. All items could be color changed and some had the option to add patterns. The shop also had the game Air Hockey Rally, a very popular one!
B Café
B Café was one of the few hangout spaces of the world of Barbie Girls, and Shop-a-Mallics had most of them. B Café was made for players to sit and chat between them. The place had some decorations for special events through the years, like the Winter Ball during Christmas, a Birthday Party for Barbie's 50th anniversary in 2009 and during V-Day's 2011 edition the place was closed for V.I.P. members only to celebrate the arrival of Ken, Barbie's longtime boyfriend, to the site. After that the place was once available to everyone and Ken stayed there. The Smashin' Fruit game had a direct link there.
B Cinemas
B Cinemas was the place made to advertise classic Barbie movies so many trailers were available to watch. Some My Scene webisodes could also be watched. The players could earn a fixed amount of B Bucks each day by watching the trailers and webisodes. Unfortunately B Cinemas was rarely updated so the trailers available were already a bit old. There was not much left to do at the place so it wasn't one of the most visited places on the website.
b park
B Park was probably the most popular place for players to hang and chat. The park also had some amazing changes during special events, like a spooky setting at night at Halloween or a Winter Wonderland at Christmas. Players could also meet SkaterBoy, the original male character of the world of Barbie Girls! B Park also had the game Word Search!
Club Beauty
Club Beauty was one of the two original V.I.P. only places and it was one of the main seeling points of V.I.P. memberships and MP3 players, and it was one of the most unique things to do at the website and that helped make it so popular. Based on popular web games to do makeup and manicure, Club Beauty applied that to other players, where players could to makeovers or receive from others. The options were: hair, makeup, manicure, pedicure. there were 9 exclusive hairstyles from Club Beauty that players could keep until they changed their hair, same with the exclusive eyes and lips. The manicure and pedicure could not be seen after nor did the accesories added. Players could also give some feedback on the looks they received.
Glam Gowns
Glam Gowns was the other original V.I.P. only shop! The store only sold dresses made for glamorous parties and some exclsuive shoes. The store also had an interactive runway that players could walk and a screen that showed their avatar. The store had very few updates, just some dresses at Christmas and a Barbie in a Fairy Secret inspired dress. Glam Gowns was also the place that advertised Design Idol and had a direct link to it. It was also the place that sold the winning dresses and shoes. The store also had 3 2008 packs for the MP3 players inspired by it, the Glam Gowns packs.
B Kooky Costumes
B Kooky Costumes was originally B Chic Boutique, a store that sold the same items as B Stylin' Shop. During Halloween 2009 the stores were changed and B Kooky Costumes was launched as a V.I.P. only store that sold manly costumes, which included the Halloween and V-Day outfits and accesories. It still had some of the same items as B Stylin' Shop and B Charmed Accessories but there were a lot of exclusives to each shop. The store also kept the game Tricky Triplets!
B Fab Fashionistas
B Fab Fashionistas was added to Shop-a-Mallics during Fall 2009. The stylish new store was made to advertise the recently released Barbie Fashionistas line of dolls. The store had the six exclusive outfits from the original dolls and some other accessories shared with other stores to complete the looks. The also had the Which Fashionista are You? quiz in which all players could learn which style fitted their personality and earn a special code to receive the necklace with the style of fashionista written. The quiz could be played as many times the players wanted and all 6 necklaces could be won.
Enchanted Bay
Enchantment Bay was added to Shop-a-Mallics during Winter 2010 and as such was the last added hangout before the website closed in 2011. Enchantment Bay was a V.I.P. only place made for players to go ice skating. Players shoes turned into ice skates and instead of walking players could slide down on the ice and would do some turns instead of going straight to a spot as they did when walking. Besides that there was not much left to do besides meeting ChillDude, the new boy on the world of Barbie Girls.
Dazzling Designs
Dazzling Designs was the first new addition to the map of the World of Barbie Girls after it's large update on late 2008. It was a direct link to one of the most popular games the website would have. The game consisted on creating fashion items and selling them at a store. All designs had costs and players had to manage their budget and try to make a profit of their sales. There were tips given to players to what was trendy at the moment so they could create more sales if they followed the advice given. The player could also create discounts in orther to create last minute sales. Each level unlocked more items to use for the designs and a bigger collection could be sold at a better store.
